The Project.
The FAE (The Free Art Experiment) Was born in 2018 when Laguz, tired of trying to figure out how to make a living out of his passion for painting, and believing that art belongs to the heart that it touches, decided to surrender to the will of the universe and put its trust on life and the people.
That's when he took to the streets, with a bag full of little drawings and prints, an anxious mind, a rushing heart, and a sign that read:
"All art is free, yes, really! Contributions are welcomed, it helps me and the sharing to keep going. Thank you, and have a wonderful day".
There were many challenges, but the people's reception to the project was overwhelmingly beautiful, and The FAE started to grow.
In the summer of 2019 two more artists joined the project in the UK to bring even more art to different spots in the city of London.
In December of that same year, The FAE opened a gallery studio on the beaches of Costa Rica with space on the walls for any artist that wanted to hang and sell their art, and a little table with materials for anyone interested in learning a bit of the craft from Laguz himself.
Laguz felt like he was living the dream, the project kept growing with five artists now sharing the studio space, plane tickets bought, and big plans for the European summer of 2020, and then, well, we all know what happened then, the year the world stood still.
The FAE gallery tried to remain open as long as it could, but with uncertainty growing and what felt like a ghost town, Laguz, with a heavy heart, had to take down the art from the walls, shoot down the project, and retreated up to the mountains to become a hermit until something changed.
And that time is now!
After 2 years The FAE is back! Laguz and Lorraine are now in London, with more art than ever and even bigger dreams!
The FAE's goal now is not only to bring art to anyone that wants it but to create a space in the jungles of Costa Rica, where anyone who needs it can come and find healing through practices like: Art therapy, meditation, yoga, lucid dreaming, journaling, dance, and communion with nature.
For this, we've now created an online shop with prices as accessible as we could make them.

Laguz
Laguz is a self-taught artist with a passion for the mysteries of life, eastern spiritual philosophies like Buddhism and Taoism, human psychology, self-knowledge, and mental and emotional healing through different practices, all these aspects inspire and show through the symbology and themes of his art, writing, and the way he approaches life. Lorraine Rabbit
Alejandra Vindas aka Lorraine, she's an illustrator, tattoo artist and graphic designer. Her artwork is inhabited by animals, nature, mushrooms, and emotions combined with vibrant watercolors or elegant ink black&white drawings. It is inspired by walks in the forest, the magic of everyday simple details, or the sky at night. The eternal cosmic blooming is a constant theme, it represents self-love, the evolution of feelings, mind, and body. Follow her on IG.
